Yes, customers in Switzerland can also purchase our products. We offer two options for this:
- Via our Swiss partner shop: Visit our partner Prodemo (prodemo.com), which distributes Kochblume products in Switzerland. There you can order directly in CHF, and delivery is without complicated customs clearance.
- Via MeinEinkauf.ch: Alternatively, you can order directly from our German online shop and use the MeinEinkauf.ch service. First, register with MeinEinkauf.ch and receive a personal email address (@meineinkauf.ch). Use this email address to create a customer account on kochblume.de and enter your German MeinEinkauf address in Konstanz as the delivery address during the checkout process. MeinEinkauf.ch then handles the fast onward shipping to Switzerland (delivery time approximately 2–3 business days to your door) and takes care of customs formalities. The advantage: You incur no additional import duties or customs fees – you only pay a small service fee to MeinEinkauf.ch and even save on shipping costs. Payment for the goods is made directly to us as usual; MeinEinkauf.ch will invoice you for the service fee separately.
❗ Note: When using MeinEinkauf.ch, please ensure that, for example, PayPal does not overwrite the delivery address – only use the address provided by MeinEinkauf to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Warranty & Guarantee
What guarantee/warranty do I have on Kochblume products?
What guarantee/warranty do I have on Kochblume products?
As a consumer, you have a statutory warranty of 24 months from the date of purchase on all Kochblume products. This means that if material or manufacturing defects occur within this period, you are entitled to subsequent performance (repair or replacement) or, if applicable, a refund. We stand behind the quality of our products and always strive to resolve any problems amicably. We do not offer a general extended manufacturer's warranty, but in many cases, even after the two-year warranty period, we can find a customer-friendly solution if a product wears out unusually quickly.
What should I do if a product is defective?
What should I do if a product is defective?
In such a case, please contact our customer service in writing via email, attaching photos of the defect. Include your order number and the retailer. Our team will then carefully review the case. Often, we can determine from the pictures and description whether, for example, a material defect is present. If necessary, we will forward the information to our product department to analyze the cause. If a warranty claim is valid, you will, of course, receive a free replacement or a refund – we usually send you a new product and cover the shipping costs. If it is unclear whether user error is the cause, we will work with you to find a solution (sometimes there are simple tips to resolve the problem). Important: If possible, please have proof of purchase (invoice or receipt) available, especially if the purchase was not made directly through our online shop. This allows us, for example, to determine the batch number of the item and assist you more quickly.
What does the warranty cover?
What does the warranty cover?
The warranty covers product defects that were present at the time of purchase (even if they only become apparent later). This includes, for example, cracks in the material, loose connections, or other manufacturing defects that occur with proper use. Normal wear and tear from prolonged use, as well as damage caused by improper use (e.g., products intentionally damaged by force), are not covered. Our Kochblume kitchen utensils are robust, but mechanical impacts such as very hard knocks or cutting with sharp knives on silicone surfaces can leave marks – such signs of use usually do not constitute a warranty defect. Nevertheless, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any doubts. Together, we will see if a replacement is possible, because your satisfaction is important to us .
My Kochblume item arrived damaged – what should I do?
My Kochblume item arrived damaged – what should I do?
Please contact us immediately if a delivery shows signs of transport damage or if an item arrives damaged. Ideally, have any visible packaging damage acknowledged by the delivery person or refuse acceptance. In any case, please note: Transport damage does not affect your rights . Contact our customer service – we will arrange for a replacement or refund as quickly as possible and clarify the matter with the shipping provider. We often ask you to take a photo of the damage to document the incident. Depending on your preference, you will then receive a new item or we will refund the purchase price.
Where can I turn if I made a purchase in a store or at a trade fair?
Where can I turn if I made a purchase in a store or at a trade fair?
If you purchased Kochblume products from a retailer, in a store, or at a trade fair , the warranty and return policies of that seller generally apply. This means that in case of complaints, please contact the respective retailer first, as they are your contractual partner . Many of our partners are also accommodating and will assist you directly. As the manufacturer, we naturally support the retailer behind the scenes (e.g., with spare parts or replacements, if necessary). Note: Kochblume itself does not have its own booth at consumer trade fairs . If you purchased our products at a trade fair, for example, it was from an authorized dealer. They should be able to help you with any problems. If you do encounter difficulties, please feel free to contact us – we want you to enjoy our products, regardless of where you purchased them.

Kochblume is a brand of high-quality kitchen gadgets made from premium silicone and other durable materials. Our products are functional, long-lasting, easy to clean, and thoughtfully designed to make cooking and baking simpler and more enjoyable.
Are Kochblume's products vegan?
Are Kochblume's products vegan?
Yes, our silicone products contain absolutely no animal-derived ingredients. They are food-safe, BPA-free, free of plasticizers, and therefore 100% vegan.
What are Kochblume kitchen utensils made of?
What are Kochblume kitchen utensils made of?
Our kitchen utensils are made primarily of 100% premium silicone , often combined with a stainless steel core for added stability (e.g., spoons, spatulas). The silicone used is food-safe, BPA-free, and contains no plasticizers . Silicone has the advantage of not leaching any harmful substances into food. It is also heat-resistant (up to approximately 260°C ) and retains its shape even at high temperatures. In addition to silicone, some products incorporate other materials – for example, our spice mills have a ceramic grinding mechanism and parts made of ABS plastic, and our microfiber cloths are made of high-quality polyester-polyamide fiber. All materials are carefully selected and meet high quality standards.
Are the products truly heat-resistant and durable?
Are the products truly heat-resistant and durable?
Yes, our silicone kitchen utensils can withstand high temperatures of up to 260°C without any problems. This means you can, for example, leave a cooking spoon in a hot pot or use our boil-over spit-out protector on a boiling pot without the material deforming or melting. You can also use the silicone utensils as a splatter guard in the pan or when baking in the oven. It is important to avoid open flames – silicone should not be held directly over a gas flame, as very high temperatures can occur in certain spots (260°C could be exceeded). However, the material remains stable during normal use (cooking, frying, oven use). Our products are durable : silicone is UV-resistant and hardly ages. It also doesn't decompose like plastic, but remains functional for years. An advantage for the environment: no toxic residues are produced when they are later disposed of (incinerated/recycled); silicone breaks down into quartz sand – a natural substance. This makes the products a good choice from a sustainability perspective as well.
Do silicone products require special care?
Do silicone products require special care?
Our silicone products are very easy to care for . They are dishwasher safe , but can also be easily cleaned by hand with warm water and a little dish soap. Generally, nothing sticks: "No sticking, no discoloration" – the material is hygienic and easy to clean. Please note that sharp objects (knives, etc.) could damage the silicone – so, for example, do not cut directly on a silicone mat to avoid cuts. Otherwise, no special treatment is required. 💡 Tip: If you let silicone products air dry after washing, you can then briefly rinse them with clean water – this will remove any limescale deposits and keep the items looking their best.
Why do my silicone kitchen utensils become sticky or develop a film over time?
Why do my silicone kitchen utensils become sticky or develop a film over time?
Some users notice a sticky residue on silicone after prolonged use. This is not a material defect , but is caused by cooking or cleaning residues that can accumulate on the surface during use. This is particularly typical of 100% uncoated silicone – the same phenomenon is known from high-quality silicone baking molds, which can act like "grease sponges." After washing, they appear clean, but during storage, a film of grease from previous baking processes reappears. In our case, this means that our products do not leach substances like plasticizers (because none are contained in them), but rather what you feel are minute traces of grease or soap from previous use. A greasy film can form, especially if the kitchen utensils are used infrequently or stored in a drawer for extended periods. While this is unsightly, it can be remedied.
💡 Tip: A vinegar solution has proven effective for cleaning sticky silicone surfaces . Place the silicone product in a mixture of vinegar essence and water (e.g., 1 part 25% vinegar essence to 3-4 parts water ) and let it soak for a few minutes. Then rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow it to dry completely. Alternatively, you can also wipe the silicone with the solution. This natural method reliably removes grease residue , leaving the product feeling like new again. Perform this cleaning occasionally – especially with larger items like lids – to keep your silicone tools hygienically clean and ready for immediate use.
❗ Note: Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh brushes on silicone to remove the film – this is usually unnecessary (vinegar is sufficient) and could roughen the surface. If the residue is very stubborn, you can use special plastic cleaners or a mixture of baking soda and water as a last resort. But normally this is not required.
Do the colorful silicone products discolor over time?
Do the colorful silicone products discolor over time?
Under normal conditions, our silicone products retain their color – they are pigmented throughout, so fading is minimal. However, food colorings or strong spices (e.g., turmeric, paprika, curry, tomato sauce) can leave slight discolorations on the surface when heated. Since our silicone is not coated , these dyes are deposited on the surface, which is particularly noticeable with lighter colors. It's important to know that these discolorations are purely cosmetic and do not affect the product's function or food safety . They usually fade on their own after a few dishwasher cycles.
💡 Tip: Home remedies for discoloration: Wipe discolored areas with diluted vinegar essence – this can dissolve color residue. Alternatively, leave the silicone product in the sun for a few hours . UV light naturally bleaches many organic dyes, often leaving hardly any trace. Applying a baking soda paste (baking soda with a little water) and rinsing it off after some time can also help. Avoid harsh bleaches, as these could damage the material. Generally, however, minor discolorations disappear over time with normal cleaning.
A silicone part is starting to "crumble" – what happened?
A silicone part is starting to "crumble" – what happened?
It's extremely rare for a spatula to have small pieces missing from the edge , or for a silicone spoon to show signs of fraying . If this does happen, it's usually due to mechanical wear and tear . While silicone is elastic, it's not indestructible: impacts or very strong pressure (e.g., repeatedly rubbing the spatula against the same sharp edge of a pot) can cause small cracks over time, which eventually become visible as flaking. Overuse, especially at temperatures above 260°C, or use in a dishwasher at high temperatures can also make the material somewhat brittle – but this is not normally the case. Should anything like this happen with your product, please contact us. We'll take a close look. We often replace affected parts as a goodwill gesture if there's no obvious misuse. After all, we want you to enjoy our products for a long time.
Returns and refunds
How can I return an item?
How can I return an item?
You can cancel your purchase (return the goods) within 14 days of receiving them without giving any reason. The easiest way to do this is via our online returns portal on the website (under "Returns & Returns"): Register there with your order number and email address or postal code. You can then directly create a return label or initiate the return process. Alternatively, you can also send us your cancellation informally by email or use the cancellation form included with your delivery. It is important that you send the return within the deadline – i.e., within 14 days of declaring your cancellation.
Do I need to give a reason for the return?
Do I need to give a reason for the return?
No, you don't need to give a reason for returning the item within the 14-day cancellation period. You can return the item if you don't like it, if it's not as expected, or simply if you wish to cancel the purchase without giving a reason. We would, of course, still appreciate your feedback, as this helps us improve our service. Please note: The right of cancellation only applies to unused goods . If you have already used a product extensively, the right of return is void, unless there is a warranty claim (defect).
Who bears the costs of the return shipment?
Who bears the costs of the return shipment?
The customer bears the direct costs of return shipping , provided the delivered goods match the order. This means you should ensure sufficient postage is paid for the return package. If the item was delivered incorrectly or is defective , we will, of course, cover the return shipping costs . In such cases, please contact our customer service so we can send you a free return label.
How and when will I get my money back?
How and when will I get my money back?
Once your return has arrived (or you have provided proof of return), we will refund all payments for the original purchase, including any delivery costs. The refund will be processed no later than 14 days after we receive your cancellation notice, but in practice, it is usually faster, namely shortly after we have received and inspected the returned goods. We will use the same payment method you used for the original purchase – for example, if you paid via PayPal, the credit will be issued to your PayPal account; for credit card payments, to your card account. You will not be charged any fees for the refund. You will receive a confirmation email from us as soon as the refund has been initiated. Depending on the payment method, it may then take a few days for the amount to appear in your account (especially with credit cards, until the next statement).
What if I've already used the item?
What if I've already used the item?
The right of withdrawal allows you to inspect the goods as you would in a physical store . This means you may unpack, look at, and try out an item to the extent necessary to test its condition and function – similar to handling it in a shop. However, if you have used the item beyond what is necessary for inspection and it now shows signs of wear, it may lose value. You would be liable for this loss in value if it is due to handling that was not necessary for inspecting the goods. In practical terms, this means that if, for example, you use a whisk intensively for two weeks and then return it, we may claim compensation for the diminished value or refuse to accept the return. However, a return is not a problem if the item has only been briefly tested and is undamaged.
How do I pack the return shipment correctly?
How do I pack the return shipment correctly?
Please return the item to us , if possible, in its original packaging with all accessories and packaging materials. This isn't mandatory, but it makes reprocessing easier for us. Use protective outer packaging to prevent damage during transport. Ideally, include a copy of the invoice or a note with your order number – this will help us process your return more quickly. If you used the returns portal, the return label is already linked to your information, so you don't need to include anything else. Do not send returned goods postage due (i.e., without prepaid postage) – postal services either refuse to accept packages sent postage due or incur high fees. Tip: Keep the shipping receipt until we have confirmed your refund.
Can I exchange the item instead of getting a refund?
Can I exchange the item instead of getting a refund?
We do not offer direct exchanges (e.g., for a different color or product) via the return process. If you wish to exchange an item for a different version, the simplest way is to return product A for a refund and simultaneously order product B. This ensures that you receive exactly what you want and allows us to manage our inventory correctly. In warranty cases (defective items), the exchange is, of course, free of charge.
How does the refund process work for partial returns?
How does the refund process work for partial returns?
If you return only individual items from an order , we will refund the purchase price of those products. If you order multiple items and return only one, you will generally receive a full refund and retain the free shipping.
My package was returned as undeliverable – what now?
My package was returned as undeliverable – what now?
If a shipment is returned to us as undeliverable (e.g., due to an incorrect address or failure to collect it from the post office), we will contact you as soon as the return arrives. We will then clarify the correct address with you or arrange a new delivery attempt. Depending on the reason, additional shipping costs may apply (for example, if the address was incorrect). If you no longer wish to keep the order, we can cancel it and refund the purchase price minus the incurred shipping costs.

Residues and discoloration from silicone products
Why does a greasy/oily film form on my silicone parts?
Why does a greasy/oily film form on my silicone parts?
As explained above in the "Products and Quality" section , 100% silicone surfaces tend to develop a thin film over time. This is cooking or cleaning residue that accumulates, especially if the items are left unused for extended periods. This phenomenon is quite common with silicone materials; it's not because the silicone itself is "bleeding" or deteriorating. Kochblume silicone contains no substances that could leach out (no oil, no plasticizers) – the residue comes from external sources (fats from food, detergent residue, limescale from water, etc.). The reason it's often only noticed after some time is that a fresh film of grease can be thin and invisible, but it can accumulate, for example, when stored in a drawer , and then feel sticky. This can happen more quickly if you prepare very oily foods or use too little detergent when cleaning (then slight traces of grease remain). But don't worry – you can easily clean your silicone utensils again!
How do I remove stains from silicone (e.g., tomato stains)?
How do I remove stains from silicone (e.g., tomato stains)?
Silicone itself is not sensitive to color , but strong color pigments can adhere to it. For example, if you've used curry with turmeric on a light-colored utensil, it may turn yellowish. These discolorations are purely superficial and do not affect the product. There are a few tricks to remove them:
- Sunlight: Place the silicone in direct sunlight for a few hours. UV rays bleach organic dyes (such as curcumin, the yellow color from turmeric) – often, hardly anything is visible afterward.
- Vinegar or lemon juice: Wipe the affected areas with a little diluted vinegar essence. Citric acid can also remove paint stains. Rinse thoroughly afterwards.
- Baking soda paste: Mix baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and a little water into a paste and apply it to the stain. Let it sit, then rinse. Baking soda will partially bind the dyes.
In most cases, one of these methods will help. It's important not to exceed the heat – some people think boiling helps, but heating above 100°C is generally ineffective and puts unnecessary stress on the silicone. Gentle bleaching as described is better. And even if a silicone item retains a slight tint, this is n't a quality defect , but rather normal behavior due to the lack of a coating. You can continue to use it without any problems.
My Kochblume lid has turned slightly yellowish after some time – what should I do?
If a silicone lid, originally colored, develops a yellow tint after months or years, this is usually due to oil and grease residue from the air . In a busy kitchen (frying, deep-frying, etc.), invisible droplets of grease accumulate in the air and settle on surfaces – you might be familiar with this from kitchen cabinets that feel slightly sticky. Silicone surfaces are no exception. Especially if the lid is often left on the stove but not always in use, air circulation can cause grease to accumulate and slightly alter the material's appearance. A thorough cleaning will help (see the vinegar method above). In one specific customer case, we checked the product batch and determined that there was no general problem – the yellow tint was due to environmental factors.
💡 Tip: Even silicone accessories that appear clean in the cupboard should be cleaned occasionally as a preventative measure . A quick wipe with hot water and dish soap or vinegar prevents thick layers from building up over time. This way, your scallop colander, for example, will always remain attractive and functional. And store silicone in a dust-free environment if possible – dust can also combine with grease and reinforce the film.
Can silicone absorb odors or tastes?
Can silicone absorb odors or tastes?
High-quality silicone like ours is odorless and tasteless . It generally doesn't absorb food flavors. For example, you can use the same silicone spoon to stir curry today and whip cream tomorrow without the cream tasting of curry. If you do notice that a utensil smells of food, clean it with a little baking soda – baking soda neutralizes odors. Sometimes strong spices can leave a slight scent, but this will disappear after the next washing or, at the latest, after a dishwasher cycle. It's important to dry the items thoroughly after washing, as damp environments promote odor development (e.g., if water is left standing for a while). Overall, silicone performs much better in this regard than, for example, wood or plastic.

How do I properly clean the Kochblume spice mills?
For our spice mills (for salt, pepper, etc.), proceed as follows:
💡 Tip: Occasionally grind some coarse salt through the pepper mill. Salt has a slight "abrasive effect" and can remove oil residue from the grinding mechanism (many professional chefs do this).

💡 Tip: Occasionally grind some coarse salt through the pepper mill. Salt has a slight "abrasive effect" and can remove oil residue from the grinding mechanism (many professional chefs do this).
How do I care for the Kochblume dispenser (e.g. for dish soap)?
How do I care for the Kochblume dispenser (e.g. for dish soap)?
Our dispensers for, e.g., dish soap, oil or syrup are practical and robust, however, there are a few tips to keep the fine dispensing opening intact.
- Cleaning: Rinse the dispenser with warm water as needed. Important: Clean the valve (pump attachment) with only light pressure and not with hard brushes. The dispensing opening is intentionally very thin to allow for precise dosing. Excessive scrubbing or poking into it with objects could widen or damage this opening. Usually, it is sufficient to soak the lid in warm soapy water and then rinse it.
- Storage: Always store the dispenser upright (on the floor) , not upside down or with the lid on. If the full dispenser is upside down, the entire contents press down on the fine opening – this can cause it to widen unnoticed over time or even crack . Therefore, store the dispenser as intended (lid on top).
- General care: If the dispenser has not been used for a long time and, for example, soap residue has dried on it, simply rinse it with hot water. Most parts are made of plastic – heat-resistant ABS and silicone seals – which can withstand temperatures up to approximately 60°C. However, do not boil the parts to avoid deformation.
❗ Note: Despite careful handling, after very long use the lid seal may wear out or the valve spring may weaken. For this reason, we offer replacement lids for our dispensers in our online shop. You don't need to replace the entire dispenser; you can simply replace the lid (pump head). This will give you a dispenser that's as good as new.
Are the Kochblume kitchen utensils (spoon, spatula, etc.) dishwasher safe?
Are the Kochblume kitchen utensils (spoon, spatula, etc.) dishwasher safe?
Yes, all our silicone kitchen utensils are dishwasher safe . You can put them in the dishwasher without any worries. The colors will remain vibrant, and the material will not be damaged. Only at very high washing temperatures (intensive program above 70°C) might the color intensity fade slightly over time – but this is barely noticeable. If you wash by hand, use regular dish soap and soft sponges or cloths. Thanks to the non-stick properties of silicone, food residue comes off easily.
One advantage: silicone utensils won't scratch your cookware . So you can confidently stir even in coated pans. Thanks to the inner stainless steel core, our spatulas and other utensils are still dimensionally stable and won't bend.
What do I need to be aware of when using Kochblume utensils?
What do I need to be aware of when using Kochblume utensils?
Not much – they're made for everyday use. Some tips:
- Heat sources: Do not leave the utensils in an open flame or on a hot stovetop. Briefly placing them in a pot or pan is fine (heat resistant up to 260 °C).
- Sharp edges: Although silicone is robust, avoid striking the utensils against very sharp or rough surfaces. For example, you shouldn't use a silicone spatula as a substitute for a cleaver 😉. As mentioned, mechanical force can weaken the material over time.
- Discoloration: When in contact with intensely colored foods, the utensils may develop a slight tint (see section on discoloration). This is normal and nothing to worry about. It's best to clean them soon after use to prevent any residue.
- Storage: Ideally, hang the kitchen utensils or place them in a spacious drawer. If they are squeezed between sharp metal utensils, the silicone could develop unnecessary pressure marks. Many of our utensils have a hole at the end of the handle for hanging.
Cleaning in case of grease buildup and "sweating" of silicone
What does "greasy" mean in the context of silicone and how does it occur?
What does "greasy" mean in the context of silicone and how does it occur?
By "greasy," we mean that a silicone product feels greasy or shows oily residue . As already described, silicone sometimes acts like a sponge for fats – it stores fat molecules on its surface . After washing, when the item dries, these molecules can escape again, which explains the greasy film. This behavior is particularly common with silicone baking molds : after several baking sessions and washes, they feel sticky on the outside. This is because baking oils/butter seep into micropores in the surface and slowly seep out again. With our Kochblume lids and utensils, the surface is very smooth, so this "sweating" is less pronounced – but it's not impossible, especially after prolonged use.
How can I thoroughly clean greasy silicone parts?
How can I thoroughly clean greasy silicone parts?
When regular dish soap is no longer sufficient, there are a few tried and tested methods:
- Vinegar bath: (As recommended above) Soak the silicone in vinegar water for a few minutes. This effectively dissolves grease.
- Baking soda/laundry detergent: What dissolves grease in the kitchen also works here. Rubbing a paste of baking soda and water onto the silicone, letting it sit, and then rinsing it off can work wonders.
❗ Caution: Do not use solvents such as acetone or gasoline! These could damage the silicone. Stick to food-grade cleaners.
Why should peppercorns be dried before use?
Why should peppercorns be dried before use?
In short: While grease buildup and perspiration are unsightly with silicone, they are normal. With the right cleaning methods, you can keep your products in top condition and use them for a long time.
Special features of microfiber products
What distinguishes Kochblume microfiber cloths?
What distinguishes Kochblume microfiber cloths?
Our microfiber cloths are specially designed for high cleaning performance and gentle handling of materials. They are particularly well-suited for delicate surfaces – for example , high-gloss kitchen cabinets, glass-ceramic cooktops, mirrors, screens, or even car paint . Unlike some cheaper microfiber cloths, ours contain no abrasive components : no metal fibers (e.g., aluminum) are woven in, and the fibers have no sharp edges. This allows them to clean very gently without causing micro-scratches. The cloths' soft yet dense structure ensures streak-free cleaning . You'll see a sparkling result, completely without chemicals – often, just water is enough.
How do I use the microfiber cloths correctly?
How do I use the microfiber cloths correctly?
For most applications, it's ideal to use the cloth slightly damp or mist-dry . Wring it out so it's not dripping, and then wipe the surface. For windows, mirrors, or glossy surfaces, mist-dry is ideal to avoid streaks. You can also use a spray bottle (water mister) to lightly dampen the surface and then wipe it dry – our cloths absorb moisture very well. If you wish to use cleaning agents, a few squirts of mild detergent or glass cleaner will suffice. Often, however, no additional cleaning agents are necessary because the microfibers absorb dirt and grease effectively on their own.
Why don't the cloths leave lint?
Why don't the cloths leave lint?
The microfibers are of such high quality that no loose lint is produced. The edges are neatly finished, and the fibers themselves are very fine (polyester and polyamide fibers). There may be a few loose threads upon first unpacking, due to the manufacturing process, but these will disappear after the first wash. Our cloths also don't stiffen like some other cloths – they remain soft. Important: Do not use fabric softener , as this will cause the fibers to clump together (more on this in the care instructions).
How do I wash microfiber cloths correctly?
How do I wash microfiber cloths correctly?
To ensure you enjoy the vibrant colors and cleaning performance for a long time, please observe the following care instructions:
- Wash at a maximum of 40°C. Higher temperatures are unnecessary and could damage the fiber structure. 40°C (for colored laundry) is perfectly sufficient to get the cloths hygienically clean.
- Do not add fabric softener! Fabric softener would coat and clump the fine microfibers, significantly reducing the cloth's absorbency. Furthermore, the fragrances it contains can perfume the cloths, which could later transfer to surfaces – something you usually don't want. So please wash without fabric softener.
- Wash separately. Our towels are richly colored to retain their vibrancy even after many washes. However , bright and dark colors in particular may bleed (release excess dye) during washing. Therefore, always wash them separately from light-colored laundry, ideally even sorted by color (e.g., red towels separately from blue ones). This will prevent color transfer to other textiles. Feel free to use the delicate or gentle cycle.
- Do not tumble dry. Heat from a tumble dryer can shrink or stiffen the microfibers – and the rotation also promotes further color bleeding. We recommend air drying the cloths (they dry quickly anyway).
❗ Care instructions: Wash new microfiber cloths before first use to remove excess dye. Use a color catcher sheet in the washing machine – especially vibrant colors can bleed significantly during the first wash. A color catcher sheet will absorb this dye and protect your other laundry. Although we have color-fixed the cloths to ensure long-lasting color, this step is recommended as a precaution.
My new scarves are getting dyed – is that normal?
My new scarves are getting dyed – is that normal?
Slight color bleeding during the first wash is normal, especially with pink, dark blue, vibrant green, etc. Our microfiber cloths are intentionally dyed intensely so they look beautiful and don't turn gray even after many uses. This high color intensity means that excess pigment may leach out during the first few washes. This is not a defect, but a technical characteristic. That's why we emphasize washing separately. After a few washes, the color will stabilize and the cloths will no longer bleed. If your cloth initially tints the wash water slightly pink, for example, feel free to rinse it again separately.
What can I use the different microfiber products for?
What can I use the different microfiber products for?
We offer a variety of microfiber products: from small polishing cloths and dish towels to large cleaning cloths . In principle, all of them can be used on any surface – however, some are specifically suited for certain applications:
- Our 30×30 cm microfiber cloths (standard size) are all-rounders for kitchen and bathroom – ideal for wiping surfaces, polishing, work surfaces, sinks, etc.
- These 60x40 cm dish towels have a slightly different weave and are ideal for drying dishes and cutlery. They are lint-free and highly absorbent, ensuring streak-free drying of glasses.
- The 50x60 cm polishing cloth is perfect for polishing to a high shine after cleaning windows or washing the car. Its larger surface area makes it easy to fold and use dry sides repeatedly.
You can use the cloths dry or damp : When dry, they attract dust (microfiber easily becomes statically charged – ideal for dusting). When damp , they wipe away dirt and grease. Try both methods depending on the application.
Do the wipes have a coated side?
Do the wipes have a coated side?
Some of our cloths have two different sides – one fluffy and one slightly smoother. The fluffy side absorbs dirt and moisture, while the smooth side is ideal for streak-free wiping or polishing. There is no additional coating or chemical treatment on the cloths. Everything works purely mechanically through the fiber structure . This is what distinguishes high-quality microfiber cloths from, for example, coated disposable cloths. You can wash our cloths hundreds of times, and they will still work perfectly.
One last quick tip: If your microfiber cloths aren't cleaning as well after prolonged use as they did initially, boil them for one minute in a pot of water with a little vinegar (or add a splash of vinegar to your washing machine). This removes detergent residue from the fibers. Then wash them as usual. You'll be surprised how much better the cloths absorb and clean again – almost like new!
