Valentine’s Day cookies

   Work the flour, sugar, butter, egg and salt into a shortcrust pastry.

   Wrap the dough in cling film and chill for 30 minutes.

   Flour the worktop, roll out the dough and cut out shapes.

   Brush the cookies with red and white food colouring and decorate with sugar hearts.

   Finally, bake for 10 minutes at 170 °C.
