Our Skimmer

The skimmer is an indispensable utensil in every kitchen, extending far beyond its traditional use. Originally used to skim foam from soups to achieve a clear, appealing broth, this spoon demonstrates its versatility through a variety of other applications. Perfectly suited for handling dumplings, gnocchi, ravioli, tortellini, or spaetzle, it meets all requirements when dealing with delicate, cooked foods.

Furthermore, the skimmer is ideal for safely and efficiently lifting blanched vegetables, boiled eggs, or poached eggs out of the water without damaging the food or carrying unnecessary liquid. Equipped with a robust stainless steel core and a food-grade, BPA-free silicone coating, the skimmer not only ensures durability and stability but also health safety during food preparation.

With a heat resistance of up to 260°C and a length of 30cm, the skimmer offers enough space for comfortable handling, even in deep pots and large pans. In addition, it is dishwasher safe, making cleaning after use incredibly easy. The gentle materials also ensure that the surfaces of pots, pans, and bowls are not scratched or damaged. This makes the skimmer an elementary component of a well-equipped kitchen, impressing with both its functionality and its gentle application.

Practical kitchen helpers for every day

Kochblume’s kitchen helpers are made of high-quality, food-safe silicone and are specially developed for everyday use. They are heat-resistant, dimensionally stable and retain their function even with intensive use.

The flexible material allows precise work and adapts optimally to different applications. At the same time, the products are particularly gentle on coated pans and delicate surfaces.

Ergonomic shapes ensure pleasant handling, while the durable quality enables sustainable use over many years.

Cooking with more ease

Cooking in everyday life is often quick, done on the side and sometimes simply stressful. You have little time, keep an eye on several things at once and still want everything to turn out right in the end. This is exactly where you notice how big a difference good kitchen helpers really make.

When everything works smoothly, the process becomes calmer. Movements come more easily, nothing snags or disturbs – and suddenly cooking feels less like a chore. Instead of constantly correcting or paying attention, you can concentrate on what you’re doing right now.

Good kitchen helpers don’t take the work off your hands, but they make it noticeably more pleasant. And that is exactly what makes even a quick evening in the kitchen more relaxed.

Quickly clean, ready to use again right away

Kochblume products are particularly easy to care for and designed for quick, hygienic cleaning. Residues can be removed effortlessly without the need for lengthy soaking.

The material absorbs neither odours nor colours and stays hygienically clean even with frequent use.

All cooking helpers are dishwasher-safe and can alternatively be cleaned simply under running water. This means they are ready to use again in no time.

Why are high-quality microfibre cloths cheaper in the long run?

Because you don’t have to replace them constantly.
Cheap cloths quickly lose their shape, absorbency and effectiveness.

High-quality versions:

  • stay stable
  • clean reliably even after many washes
  • deliver consistently good results

👉 Buy once – instead of constantly rebuying.

What makes a really good microfibre cloth in everyday use?

You notice it immediately.

It glides cleanly over the surface, picks up dirt directly and leaves no residues. No lint, no re-polishing, no second pass.

👉 That’s exactly how cleaning should work.

Why do poor cloths leave streaks and smears?

Because they don’t properly absorb water and dirt.
Cheap cloths leave a film – especially on glass, mirrors or high-gloss surfaces.

The consequence:
You clean… and still see every mark.
👉 Frustration guaranteed.

Good microfibre cloths pick up everything – in one step.

Why do you barely need any cleaner with good microfibre cloths?

Because the cleaning works mechanically – not chemically.
The fine fibres loosen dirt so effectively that water is often enough.

What this means for you:

  • less chemistry on your surfaces
  • fewer residues
  • less effort

👉 Cleanliness without “fogging up” your kitchen.

Why do normal cloths often simply not clean properly?

Because they only move dirt around – they don’t pick it up.

Conventional cloths often just spread grease, dust and water across the surface. The result: streaks, residues and you have to wipe several times.
👉 A waste of time – every single day.

Microfibre makes the difference:

It actively binds dirt and picks it up directly.
👉 One wipe. Truly clean.

My new cloths are bleeding colour – is that normal?

A slight “bleeding” of colour during the first wash is normal, especially with pink, dark blue, strong green, etc.. Our microfibre cloths are deliberately intensely dyed so that they look pretty and don’t turn grey even after many uses. This high colour intensity means that excess colour pigments can come out during the first washes. This is not a fault, but technically inherent. That is why we emphasise washing separately. After a few washes this stabilises and the cloths no longer bleed. If your cloth initially turns the wash water slightly pink, for example, simply rinse it through separately again.

How do I use the microfibre cloths correctly?

For most applications it is ideal to use the cloth slightly damp or mist-damp. Wring it out so that it does not drip, then wipe over the surface. For windows, mirrors or glossy surfaces, mist-damp is particularly suitable to avoid streaks. You can also use a spray (water atomiser) to lightly dampen the surface and then wipe it dry afterwards – our cloths absorb moisture very well. If you want to use a cleaning agent, a few squirts of a mild cleaner or glass cleaner are enough. Often, however, no additional cleaning products are needed, as the microfibres also pick up dirt and grease very well on their own.
